The New York Post fires another shot in its feud with Mike Francesa. I don’t know that I can think of any two institutions that deserve each other more. It’s like Phillies-Yankees all over again.

Mets Today asks you to rate the Mets’ potential free-agent targets.

Kerry Rhodes is getting benched. Good. He stunk on Sunday and Eric Smith played well.

Yesterday was the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species.” The New York Times demonstrates how breathtakingly awesome evolution can be.

The Mets named their coaching staff yesterday. I don’t know enough about any of these guys to have a strong opinion, though I was kind of hoping Eric Wedge would be involved.

  1. What’s the party line on why Mets fans hate Francesa? I don’t get it; he always gives them their due when they do something good. That just rarely happens.

    • I can’t speak for the party line, I just can’t stand his cocky demeanor and general jackassery. I know a lot of Mets fans dislike him because he’s a Yankee fan, but that doesn’t bother me as much as his outright dismissal of everything everyone who is not Mike Francesa has to say.

      • Its not becuase hes a Yankee fan, its because he pick on the Mets and thier fans. He will give them credit and all that, but he just does little things to irk Mets fans. Like constantly ribbing and picking on that update guy ‘Mr. Met’, who pisses me off even more b/c he’s to big of a pussy to stand up to Mike or defend himself or his team.

  2. The blurb on Lackey in the Mets Today free agent HotOrNot explains perfectly why I don’t want the Mets to go after him: it’ll be Santana-type money for Derek Lowe-type performance.

Also: Is that picture of Kevin Millar with a KFC bucket on his head real? That’s gotta be photoshopped, right?
