I put up a lengthy post earlier ripping the Mets for a bunch of potential roster moves suggested in Adam Rubin’s article today, but I’ve since decided it was way more negative than I’d like to be at the season’s outset, especially considering none of the contested moves have actually been made yet.
I’ve taken the post down and I’ve saved all the content for when they actually happen.
Actually, i’d probably have the steak, precisely because I paid for the damn thing and I’d better eat it before it can go bad. I’d save the more recently purchased sandwich for later. Actually we can save this metaphor. Mejia is the sandwich, Figgy is the steak. Use him now and keep the damn sandwich for later because he is tastier and you know that you’d like it more anyway. Save the best for last right?
But now the carefully crafted old Steak vs. old Meatball Sub analogy is obsolete!
I thought it was a reasonable post. This team has not earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to roster construction.
Of course, if I think it’s reasonable, it’s probably a good sign that it’s not.
Yeah, I just rehashed some of it above. I just thought it came off a bit obnoxious, since they haven’t actually done any of it yet.
