Read the Big Bam, if you haven’t already. It came out about 3 or 4 years ago and is available in paperback. Excellent book which incorporates the research done by several different authors in the early 70’s who wrote Ruth biographies while Aaron was chasing his HR record.
These are from when he’s old and frail — he was just putting his uniform back on for his retired number ceremony.
Unless you mean from during his career, when he also didn’t look much like a ballplayer. In that case, he was fueled by booze and hot dogs. Like all great men.
