  1. I think my cousin lives blocks from her. I saw her in Starbucks once. I didn’t realize it was her, but that didn’t stop me from very obviously, embarrassingly checking out the hipster looking ambiguously ethnic girl sitting a few feet away from me.

As you can imagine, she fled. :(

  2. I live a few blocks away from Ms. Jones and the whole brouhaha about her windows is insane. I’m totally agnostic about her music; don’t listen to it, don’t have an opinion about it. She seems like a nice person and owns a sweet brownstone. All she wants to do is put a few windows in the side of her building and people go nuts. Cobble Hill is a hip and cool place to live but like anywhere else it also has people that worry too much about what other people are doing.

    Windows! Not more windows!

    Give me a break.

    • Yeah I’m with you on the windows thing. Actually, brownstones on the end of rows always look a little weird to me, with no windows like that. If she owns the home and wants to put windows in, who cares? Is it really going to diminish your property value if the woman across the street has windows on the side of her brownstone?

I mean, I’m all for preserving nice and historical buildings. But people in Brooklyn go nuts with it. It’s not Colonial Williamsburg, you know.
