The Pirates will non-tender rapper-outfielder Lastings Milledge. His career has not gone the way we — I — hoped it would. He doesn’t hit well enough to be a corner outfielder or defend well enough to be a center fielder. He’s still just 25 though, so someone will take a flyer on him. Probably won’t be the Mets.
I’m with you, I completely misjudged the production he’d turn in. I thought he’d be much better than this…
His greatest value to Mets fans might be as the poster child for patience when judging personnel moves.

I think L-Millz would agree that in his heart he’s always been an MC first and a light hitting unreliable 4th outfielder 2nd.
Man, that was just such a terrible song though, on top of everything else. I went with rapper-outfielder to vaguely parody the “rapper-actor” construction that is common in Hollywood.
If you are anything-“rapper”, the rapper portion always carries a ton more street cred. and most always comes first.
