Items of note

Paul at Section Five Twenty-Eight returns with more John Olerud facts. My favorite: John Olerud avoids using the word “moist,” because it sounds so inappropriate.

Tim McLelland is sorry. In the words of Eric Gordon, “Sorry doesn’t put the Triscuit crackers in my stomach.” Also, one thing we’re all missing in this is that Tim McLelland is massive. Honestly, check it out next time he’s behind the plate. He’s huge. He’ll twist off your head if you argue a call.

You know what subject I don’t cover enough? Taco Bell. (Language NSFW.)

Alex Nelson of Amazin’ Avenue knows an absolute ton about the Mets’ 2009 draftees. I’m most excited for ZeErika Hall, because his name is ZeErika.

  1. I’m so glad you have this blog. You’re friggin hysterical.

I especially like the “Hey, guy: F@#$ you.” part of your piece on Taco Bell. I nearly spit my tea all over the laptop.

  2. For what it worth, I ope the efforts of NY state concerning unhealthy food do not go nationwide. I live in and spend the majority of my time in NJ, where they do not list the calories of every food item, and I like it that way.

When I go to a fast food restaurant, I know what I am eating, and I don’t care. I was in NY last weekend and stopped in dunkin donuts and was faced with the harsh reality that the chocolate chip muffin that I so enjoy, has almost 800 calories. I still ate the muffin, but I really did not need to be reminded of the calories count.

  3. I find myself stopping for chicken strips at KFC or Popeyes, or some delicious Taco Bell action usually about once a week. As far as I’m concerned, there’s no shame in it because: a) it tastes good; and b) it’s cheap and I’m pretty broke right now.

I wholeheartedly agree with your “Hey, guy: F@#$ you” perspective. Two chicken burritos and an order of nachos for $2.99 is full of win.

    • Sorry to have had to edit the profanity out of your post before approving it. Though you and krumbledkookie are both simply quoting me, the f word is one of several that are blocked in comments on this site, even though I use it so often in daily life.
