This is another clip from Takashi, in which Val Pascucci hits a game-winning pinch-hit home run for Bobby Valentine’s Marines. Now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure Pascucci himself described to me the way the Pascucci cheer went on all at-bat long, but I guess I never really considered how strange that would sound until I actually saw it on video. To be honest, it seems like it would be distracting, but it’s awesome regardless:
I’m so getting a bunch of people to do this chant with me if/when he gets called up to the Mets this year. Now all I need to do is figure out how to get a brass section into Citi Field.
I’m in. I’ll handle trombone duties.
How much would it cost to bring back Bobby V, and also a couple thousand Japanese to sit in the cheap seats and do this chant for every batter?
He should just show up to spring training wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers jersey. Wilpon would make sure he made the team. Maybe even name a rotunda after him.
Thank you for updating!
