22 votes so far — results: Pagan (22), GMJ (0), Other (0).
You may well be preaching to the choir.
What makes you think I’m not crafting a scathing indictment of Angel Pagan’s baseball IQ? Gary Matthews Jr is a proven veteran!
I was tempted to vote Matthews in the hopes it would lead to a good post, but glad I didn’t.
Looks like it would have been in vain.
Wow, can’t believe the results so far. Preaching to the choir may be unfair since there’s a mix of cause and effect here, but your readers seem to almost entirely share your views of these players.
it should be Eric Byrnes
GMJ is still being shut out.
Where is the Fernando Martinez option?
I vote for the “terrifyingly named Angel Pagan”
You should still write it. People can’t link to our opinions to help persuade their friends and shift opinion. They can link to yours.
I wanted to vote for Mike Jacobs.
Might be worth it just for the sake of comedy.
You should post your article anyway. I’d be interested to know if we fans are all on the same page or not.
Wonder how differently this voting would have been had Pagan got more playing time this past week and he didn’t do any better than GMJ did with the bat? Although I don’t see how that’s possible. Wait, yes I do – re: Jacobs.
By the way, I voted Pagan.
I think we will see Pagan awarded the spot very soon, when he has a big couple games in Colorado. All he has to do to make Jerry notice is go about 10 for 10. No pressure, Angel. And don’t flash too much power, because Jerry sees you as a a “top of the lineup” type of player, and those guys should only slap at the ball and bunt excessively. Know your role!
Also, yes, please post the article anyway. With lots of snark!
It’s amazing, usually you will have at least a couple of troll voters who vote GMJ just because, but through 116 votes, even the trolls can’t justify voting GMJ. Yet he will probably continue to receive the lion’s shares of the starts in CF, proving that Jerry Manuel is the biggest troll of Mets fans around.
F-Mart!
The arbitrary nature in which the Mets decide on their starters isn’t worthy of a column.
It might possible to create a lineup comprised of Mets non-starters and minor league players that could create more offense than their current starting lineup.
GMjr got a vote! Someone must have taught Omar how do use a computer yesterday. Lets hope that same person now shows him how to go to fangraphs so he can see Matthews’ UZR from last season.
