Awesome. “The fact that Omar Minaya could wrangle a functioning human man of any
kind in a trade for Frenchy ’78 OPS+’ Francoeur is a minor miracle.” And you know, I think I kind of miss Frenchy in some messed-up way. Not watching him hit, that’s for certain. But he was at least a source of endless — if endlessly frustrating — entertainment. Sigh.
I loved Frenchy. Not even ironically. He’s just a big ole goofy, enthusiastic pup of a baseball player – how do you not love him?
I’m going to miss him, even though I don’t actually want him on my team – the hilarious photos, the comments. He’ll likely be out of baseball entirely before long, and that will be a sad day.
I love that Sielski continues to claim this article was written ironically.
